Our Nursing Team
Belinda Midson Registered Nurse
My name is Belinda and I am our Tokoroa based nurse , I graduated Bachelor of Nursing in 2012.
I worked in palliative care for 4 years and made a career change to Emergency Nursing in 2016 in Taupo Hospital.
Since 2016, I have had 2 children and worked part-time in the Emergency Department around my family and business.
In late 2021 I had the opportunity to work in the Occupational Health Centre at Oji Fibre Solutions Kinleith where I have been developing my skills in Occupational Health Nursing, and now as part of the Tokoroa based Industry Med team leading our injury rehabilitation and assisting with innovative Industry Care Telemedicine.
Paige Registered Nurse
Paige is our education loving registered nurse that helps make up our Tokoroa team.
She also has drug testing qualifications as well as being certified to vaccinate and a solid background in General Practice, she is completing postgraduate education in nursing and brings the youthful enthusiasm we love. Her 3 years experience on NZs busy mill sites bring occupational health and first aid experience that is priceless.
Ramona Registered Nurse
Ramona is a registered nurse with special interest and experience in skin, acute care and is really enjoying occupational health. Ramona is currently based in our Kawerau clinic.
Gwenda Registered Nurse
Gwenda is an RN with over 40 years of experience, 15+ of these being in occupational health and has worked in a wide range of community based settings. Her many roles have included: rural public health nurse, acc case management, district nursing, palliative care, practice nursing, needs assessment coordination, and management of post discharge services. Gwenda has a passion for working with people in the community and their places of work. She is also passionate about ongoing and self-directed learning.
Deb Lovett Financial Administrator
Debbie Lovett is our financial administrator and helps keep the functioning of our operations going as well as being our administrative lead. She has contributed to the growth and development of Industry Med key systems and customer engagement. With local knowledge and over 3 years at our mill clinic, she also calls on experience from a career in the Tasman mill site spanning many years.
Jazmine Business Administrator
Jaz has been in administrative work for almost 10 years, 5 years working in Australia before moving back home to Kawerau where she was born and raised. Jaz worked as a medical receptionist in Whakatane then moved on to do a 2 year stint in Mental Health Support before having her first baby. Jaz is now our Business Administrator here at the Kawerau clinic, and is recently trained in urine drug testing.

Dr. Lawrie Hughes
Experienced in Emergency and Urgent care, Dr. Hughes is integral to our mill site clinic teams, providing occupational, primary and urgent care for workers.
Dr. Misty Hunter
Fellow of the Royal College of GPs with special interest in women's health, forensic medicine, and occupational medicine. Expertise in back-to-work planning and rural/Māori health.
Dr. Cheyenne Heka
MBChB, FRNZCUC (Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Pāhauwera). Trained at University of Otago with expertise in Urgent Care, General Practice, and Occupational Health.
Sarah was trained at the University of Auckland Medical School. She holds Bachelor Degree's in both Health Science ( Public Health), and Medicine & Surgery, but also holds a Diploma in Paediatrics all completed at the University of Auckland, as well as postgraduate studies in Maori health, and is studying the Maori language. Sarah holds a fellowship to the Royal NZ College of Urgent Care.
Working on our occupational clinics in the heart of the heavy industries for the past 7 years, as well as previous Urgent Care clinic roles and General Practice in Whakatane and Opotiki, Sarah enjoys the mix of medicine she sees daily.
Paora Gardiner

Our Founders' Story
Dr. Sarah Gardiner
Raised on her grandmother's farm in Moerewa, Northland, Sarah gained entry into Auckland University Medical School. Now a fully qualified physician, she leads Industry Med while being a full-time mother to three tamariki. Her favourite thing about an innovative workplace clinic? Seeing her patients home safe every day.
Paora Gardiner
Born and raised in Tauranga, Paora serves as kaihautū (guiding force) behind Industry Med. A graduate of Tauranga Boys' College and Waikato University, he brings experience across social sector, health and safety.
